Santa Maria, Guatemala

In pictures: Santa Maria, the first school we are supporting in Guatemala.

We were able to provide this school with 615 exercise books (that equates to six months supply), 70 text books and 10 dictionaries with a further 50 encyclopedia's to follow later in the school year.

Selvin's volcano challenge...

We had originally intended to do a Acatenango/Fuego double header, but due to the recent activity of the latter, we had to change this to a double header of the two peaks of Acatenango.

Below is our challenge in pictures...

It was definitely hard work, but worth every step for that view at the summit!

Thank you to everyone who sponsored us, you have helped us to raise an incredible £800, we are beyond grateful xxx

Selvin's Volcano Challenge Guatemala 2012

In just over two weeks time, Vicki and Stu will be taking on the challenge of trekking over two volcanoes in 48 hours.

Acatenango stands at 3,976 meters (13,040 ft) tall, while Fuego stands at 3,763 m (12,346 ft). We will be battling altitude and both volcanoes are active, with the latter issuing smoke daily.

Following your amazing support over the past year we are able to provide over 300 text books, a computer and a printer to local schools in Guatemala. Every penny makes a huge difference, and this is the difference you have helped us to make this year.

To help us make a difference next year, We are asking our supporters to donate £1 for our volcano challenge.

You can donate via our website using the paypal option.

As always thank you for your support!
